Why Nursing?
When I was younger I was never interested in becoming a nurse. I did not like the idea that nurses had to do everything for the patient and on top of that having to work twelve hour shifts. However, as I grew up and had to go to hospitals for various reasons; I was able to recognize the important need for nurses. I loved the idea that nurses had such an intimate and personal relationship with the patient. I also liked how they made a difference in their patients’ lives just by doing their job. From that point on I knew that I wanted to be involved in nursing because I wanted to have an impact on others lives just like nurses had impacted my life.

As a student nurse, in a way i can relate to how you felt about not truly knowing and understanding what it meant to be a nurse as first. But then once you got some experiences by going to hospitals and such, you began to get enlightened on what it mane to be a nurse. And i too want to make a difference in the lives of my patients
I feel you... I wanted to become a cop or a fire fighter
